financial Investigation

We investigate all suspicions of fraud and implement fraud prevention policies.  We investigate all frauds related to:

  1. Asset Misappropriation: A scheme in which a third party or employee steals or misuse the employing organization’s resources. Eg: Theft of cash, Fraudulent Disbursements, Theft and Misuse of Inventory and Other Assets, Embezzlement.

  2. Corruption: A scheme in which an employee misuses his or her influence in a business transaction in a way that violates his or her duty to the employer in order to gain a direct or indirect benefit. Eg: Conflicts of Interests, Bribery, Illegal Gratuities.

  3. Financial Statement Fraud Schemes: A scheme in which an employee intentionally causes a misstatement or omission of material information in the organization’s financial reports. Eg: Net Income Overstatements,Net Income Understatements.

The most common category of fraud that businesses encounter is Asset Misappropriation.  These fraud schemes involves: Skimming, Cash Larceny, Fraudulent Disbursements, Check Tampering, Billing, Accounts Receivables, Expense Reimbursement, Payroll, Non-cash, and Inventory Schemes.

Our fraud risk assessment identify your vulnerability to internal fraud by working with individuals who have extensive knowledge of the organization's operations.  We work with these individuals to identify:

  1. the potential inherent fraud risks.

  2. assess the likelihood and significance of occurrence of the identified fraud risks.

  3. evaluate which people and departments are most likely to commit fraud and identify the methods they are likely to use.

  4. identify and map existing preventive and detective controls to the relevant fraud risks.

  5. evaluate whether the identified controls are operating effectively and efficiently.

  6. identify and evaluate residual fraud risks resulting from ineffective or nonexistent controls.

 

fraud awareness training

Our fraud awareness training for employees helps them understand the impact of fraud on their companies and what they can do to help prevent it.  Our program is customized to make it specific to your organization’s needs. Our curriculum includes the three types of occupational fraud, the types of fraud committed by employees and vendors, what causes people to commit fraud, red flags to look out for, and what to do if they suspect fraud. We also educate management on how to implement and evaluate controls to prevent fraud and methods to detect fraud, and provide a fraud free work zone.

litigation support

We provide forensic accounting and financial examinations as it relates to criminal investigations, divorce and asset tracing, net-income and net-worth calculations, business and employee fraud, and other disputes. We can further testify in court to support our findings.
